After 5 months of lockdown (due to Covid-19), I stepped out with my family for leisure. We booked a room at Della Resorts to relax, rejuvenate and feel a sense of normalcy. Here’s a quick blog about my experience
You can watch the video on my channel too to see the room, weather, views, and most importantly FOOD.
Della Adventures & Resorts is spread across a 43-acre stretch with luxurious hotels, villas, camps and a very popular adventure park. The adventure park was shut due to Covid-19 but is famous for activities like bungee jumping, buggy ride, rappelling, etc.
We booked a king-size bedroom at Della Luxurious Resorts for one night. We were three of us travelling so we opted for one extra bed.
The room was moderate in size but equipped with all the basic amenities like tea section, locker safe, huge mirror, wardrobe and stationery. The bed was super comfortable and spacious. The room has carpets that give it a royal feel. There is a sitting area both inside the room and outside with sofa/chairs and a table.
What stood out for me was the spacious washroom. The size of the washroom is equal to that of the room. There are two sinks, a toilet, a hot tub with jacuzzi and a shower cubicle. The tub faces the tv so you can be entertained while in the tub. The washroom too has all essentials like dental kit, vanity kit, shaving kit, lotions, shampoo, hairdryer, bathrobe and an iron pad.
The room has the view of a garden, a fountain with huge palm trees and a hill. It was my favourite spot to listen to the sound of rains whilst enjoying a cup of tea.
Della has theirs in house restaurant called Cafe 24 which is opened 24 hours. The menu has a bunch of cuisines to choose from. They have Indian dishes, Italian delicacies, Seafood specialities, nibbles, sandwiches and beverages (both alcoholic & non-alcoholic).
You can also opt for in-room dining with the same menu. We had our lunch at Cafe 24 and dinner in our room. Our temperatures were checked before entering the restaurant. The restaurant has both an outdoor and indoor seating space. The outdoor seating area is by the pool.
The food was expensive but very delicious. The flavours were not overpowering and the staff got some dishes as per our customization (spicy, less spicy, etc). My favourites from everything that we had were Chicken Kung Pao, dry Manchurian, pizza, paneer tikka masala and walnut fudge.
The breakfast buffet was a little disappointing. There were only Indian dishes like dosa, chole bhature, eggs, poha, idli and chai. For the amount we paid, we expected some international specialities like waffles, pancakes, muffins, etc. The taste was decent. There was chai, coffee, juice and fruits too.
Most of the people who come to Della enjoy the adventure park. We loved strolling around the property and soaking in the greenery. There is a gym and swimming pool too.
I am not aware of other activities as our intention of stay was to be around the room, relax and enjoy what was available then*
The rates keep fluctuating and you can find all the details on their website. We booked a room at 11,000 INR for one-night excluding taxes. It includes room and breakfast buffet.
Please note: The safety precautions like room sanitisation, temperature checks and timely cleaning of restaurants was done. You will need an epass and aarogya setu app to visit Lonavala if you’re coming from the outskirts.
*Since we went during the situation of Covid-19, a bunch of activities were not operational. This blog is not sponsored. The views expressed our persona.
