Veg Momo Recipe : Simple Veg Momo Recipe In Idli Stand

A simple veg momo recipe for all the momo lovers out there. Enjoy!


For stuffing

  • 1 tbsp chopped garlic
  • 1 cup cabbage
  • 1 cup carrot
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • salt (as per taste)
  • a dash of ginger garlic paste
  • 1 green chilli (optional)

For Dough

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/4 tsp salt


  1. Put oil and garlic in a pan. Saute it on low flame for 2 minutes till garlic takes a little colour. Add cabbage and carrot
  2. On slow flame, keep tossing cabbage carrot for 2 minutes. Add salt, pepper, green chillies, ginger-garlic paste and keep cooking.
  3. Make sure you don’t overcook it. Allow the stuffing to cool down.
  4. Take all-purpose flour, salt, oil and water to make a dough. Let the dough rest for 15 minutes
  5. Start rolling the dough and add stuffing to it. Make sure the layer is thin but not so thin that it gets overcooked. Give it a shape you prefer
  6. Grease an idli stand and heat the water in the utensil as you would if you were steaming idlis. Once the water is hot, place the momos in an idli stand and steam for 12-15 minutes once they are ready.

Serve hot with chutney!
